High School Musical 3: Senior Year refers to more than just Troy and Gabriella’s last year of high school. Their colorful acting teacher, Ms. Darbus, has come up with a wonderful idea for their final production: a musical, written by Kelsi, about their experiences at East High. Kelsi signed everybody she knew up for the play, including Troy, Gabriella, Ryan, Sharpay, Chad, Taylor, Martha, and Zeke. The students came up with the ideas for scenes and songs themselves and the movie switched back and forth between real life and their performance in the play.
Some new students were hanging around East High this year, all underclassmen, who presumably are setting things up for a 4th High School Musical movie. Introduced to fans were Tiara Gold, a British import who becomes Sharpay’s assistant as well as Rocketman and Donny, two young basketball players who look up to Troy and Chad. Trying to imagine these three characters carrying an entire movie next year seems like a longshot but at the end of High School Musical 3, Ms. Darbus alluded to at least one major character who could return for another film.
